After interviewing 105 people across Australia about their experiences, we have begun publishing and sharing our research. Thank you to everyone who shared their stories. Here are the research articles that we have published so far:
‘Living and Dying in Shadow Times’
This article explores ‘diagnostic time’, ‘prognostic time’, ‘terminal time’ and ‘mourning time’ in relation to death, dying, and bereavement.
‘Dying as a Collective Encounter: Relationality and Affect at the End of Life’
In this research article, we share participant’s stories of how relationships with others significantly impact their experiences in the last days and weeks of life.

Here, we return to the question of time - how do people experience time differently when they are approaching the end of life?
‘Accounting for Death: Economising (the End of) Life’
In this article we look at how finances shape peoples experiences at the end of life. We look at how economic rationalities form a large part of the contemporary process and experience of dying, and more concerningly, are so entrenched that they are rarely visible or contestable. This article was also highlighted in The Conversation, where we wrote about how the ‘good death’ comes at a cost that not everyone in Australia can afford.
